Lent and Easter:

Lent is almost upon us and we have a good variety of cards, Real Easter Eggs as well as pre-loved books in our Lent/Easter section. We also have a copy of the Archbishops Lent book for 2019, write up below, (more of which can be ordered), we also have Tom Wright’s Lent book and we are able to order lent courses from York Courses. The Ignatian Way is recommended by “Woman Alive”. We are also taking orders for Palm Crosses (both Indian and African) and Pascal Candles and transfers.

Swamy reminds us constantly that true reconciliation is a journey into otherness’ JUSTIN WELBY

Global in scope, but homing in on the role ordinary people play in conflict and division, Reconciliation enables Christians to engage confidently in a ministry bequeathed to us by Christ himself.

The book issues a vibrant call to the church to support and strengthen relationships amongst church members; to cross borders to build connections with different denominations, and to maintain open attitudes towards our neighbours from other religions and ideologies.

Forty biblically-based meditations introduce topics such as Impediments to reconciliation, risking the self, humility and self-criticism, radical openness to the other andpeace with justice. Questions for reflection are included, making Reconciliation suitable for use at weekly gatherings or for everyday devotion during Lent.

Churches together is advertising their choice for 2019:

The Mystery of God.

In 2019, our Lent course delves more deeply into the mystery of God, seeking to rediscover what it is that draws us so deeply in our search for God. We will follow Jesus through the Lenten readings, allowing him to draw us, in love and wonder, into the mystery of God’s plan of salvation.
